Fisherman’s Red is a handcrafted wine honoring the coast, fishermen and seafaring heritage of Half Moon Bay. This wine is a blend of North Coast Carignane, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. The Carignane is one of the most widely planted grapes in the world – it is described as a work horse – with most of the vines in California at least 50 years old. Wine made from Carignane has red-fruit characteristics, deep violet and purple color, strong tannin structure and a high alcohol content. Carignane is the backbone of Fisherman’s Red and the hand-crafted blend with the other red grapes results in its distinctive flavor characteristics.
